Commission recommends vacating proposed road easement in Forestdale; utility easement to remain

The Warrenton Planning and Zoning Commission on Aug. 7 recommended approval of Vacate 002, a request to vacate a proposed road easement in the Forestdale Subdivision, while retaining the utility easement.

Planning staff told the commission the road easement would be vacated because the subdivision had been approved with the road not needed, but the utility easement would remain in effect. Applicants and staff were present to answer questions but no public commenters spoke.

Commissioner Cohen moved to recommend approval of the proposed road‑easement vacation; Commissioner Detterman seconded. The roll-call vote recorded six yes votes, zero no votes, three absences and one vacancy; the motion passed 6–0. Staff said the commission’s recommendation will go before the Board of Aldermen at its Aug. 19 meeting.
