The Warrenton Board of Aldermen on June 17 approved a site plan for Raygoza Contracting Service, LLC to construct a commercial building east of North Highway 47 and south of Eastwood Street.
According to Tim Burks, Director of Planning and Development, the proposal is for a primary 5,072‑square‑foot commercial building with an 850‑square‑foot planned expansion on the east side, bringing the total proposed floor area to 5,922 square feet. The planned use includes a contracting administrative office and a hair salon; the applicant stated there would be no outdoor storage or yard activity.
Burks said the Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval by an 8‑0 vote (two members absent) and reported the site plan items were consistent with city code. At the Board meeting the ordinance approving the site plan (Bill No. 37‑25) passed final reading with four yes votes, one abstention, and one alderman absent; Alderman Krempp recorded an abstention.
Why it matters: the site plan approval allows construction to proceed for a mixed commercial use building and establishes conditions for site development consistent with city code.
What was discussed: staff confirmed site plan items met code; no public comment was recorded at the P&Z hearing. The Board’s final vote included one abstention; the transcript does not record a reason for the abstention.
Next steps: with the site plan approved, the applicant may pursue building permits; the transcript does not include a construction start date or budget figures.
