Aldermen approve vacating Blueberry Park; five owners to replat property

The Harrisonville Board of Aldermen voted June 16 to vacate Blueberry Park and authorized staff to proceed with surveying, legal descriptions and replatting so the property can be divided among adjoining owners.
Staff said five property owners signed memoranda of understanding to share surveying and legal-description costs so there should be no expense to the city. The board heard residents’ questions about access to a power line that runs east–west through the park and about how fencing would be handled after replatting.
City staff told aldermen the plat will go to the Planning and Zoning Commission after surveys are complete, and that any ordinance effecting the vacation and replat would return to the board for first and second readings. The resolution passed on a motion from Alderman Cheney with a second from Alderman Franklin; the board assigned Resolution 2025-12 to council bill 32.
