The Greene County Board of Commissioners on July 31, 2025 adopted a resolution declaring August 2025 Child Support Awareness Month in Greene County.

County staff reported that “just under 10,000” children in Greene County receive child support and said the county administers its program efficiently relative to other Ohio counties. Commissioners asked about trends and the age when child support typically ends; staff said support usually ends at age 18 except in cases involving developmental disabilities or other exceptions.

Commissioners unanimously approved the proclamation. The resolution acknowledges the roles of parents, child-support professionals, employers and partner agencies in helping ensure children receive ordered support.
