The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 26 voted to receive and sign an Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Airport Infrastructure Grant offer and agreed to table a separate airport fuel-agreement renewal until after executive-session review.
The board moved to “receive and sign the grant offer for Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Airport Infrastructure Grant project number 3-39-01007-017-2025.” Commissioners Finley and Holiday recorded “yes” votes on the motion.
Separately, the board considered a motion to renew the Lawrence County Airport fuel agreement with Flyers. Commissioners agreed to table the item pending further review after executive session because the renewal term under the contract reportedly may be eligible for a three-year renewal rather than the one-year term discussed. Staff said they would pull the agreement for review and convene after executive session to consider the contract’s allowable renewal period.
No additional contract award or expenditure was approved for the fuel agreement at the meeting; the grant acceptance was the only formal action recorded for airport-related items during the session.
