Maintenance updates

Jean, the county payment/maintenance supervisor, reported the courthouse elevator repair had been completed and the unit had not shown problems since a part replacement on Monday. He also reported minor roof repairs and multiple HVAC breakdowns this year; he recommended the county plan for another round of HVAC replacements in the next two years because some equipment is aging and could fail catastrophically if not replaced.

Jean said landscaping and small repairs have been completed and one basement-access door will be repainted. Commissioners asked for a schedule and cost estimate for HVAC units so the board can plan budgetary replacements. They also discussed resealing and resurfacing the parking lot: staff said the lot was sealed three years ago and an option to resurface and improve drainage (a trench and tile to the ditch) should be considered when the county budgets a full resurfacing.

Sidewalks, concrete and contractor timing

Jean said he had asked a contractor to complete sidewalk concrete by September to allow 30–45 days of cure time before heavy traffic for upcoming events; he said the contractor had not yet confirmed. Commissioners emphasized the need for the county to restrict vehicle traffic on new concrete during the cure period.
