At a joint ditch session on July 15, county and neighboring-county ditch officials approved proposed 2026 assessments for two drainage districts: the Tamarack Main and the Tamarack (Buell) branch.
Staff reported the Tamarack Main currently showed a negative balance of $1,944 and proposed a 2026 collection of $5,265. Of that amount, Calvary County’s responsibility was noted as $194.81 (3.7%). The ditch had routine maintenance and tree removals during the year; staff said spraying for brush and broadleaf occurred in 2025 and is planned again for 2026.
For the Tamarack (Buell) branch the balance stood at negative $574.73 and the proposed 2026 collection was $934. DeKalb County’s share was listed as $69.12 (7.4%), with other watershed shares identified in the packet. Commissioners and joint-board members moved and seconded the proposed collections and carried the motions by roll call.
The approved collections task the appropriate counties to assess landowners in those drainage districts for the listed amounts for 2026.
