Victoria County Commissioners on June 9 ratified an executed proposal from Burge Engineering and Associates to perform geotechnical borings for the Victoria County Regional Emergency Operations Community Safe Room (HMGP Doctor 4 4 8 5) and authorized county engineer John Johnston to sign future project documents.
John Johnston explained that Burge was already mobilized to capture bore logs for two nearby projects and that using the same mobilization would capture data for both the safe room and a mental health hospital project. He said he had previously been authorized to sign for the mental health project and asked the court to ratify the contract he executed for the safe room and to permit him to sign future documents related to the safe room project. Johnston said, “this is the, the soils investigation boring… mobilizing once and capturing these 2, boring logs for both properties.”
A motion to ratify the contract and authorize future signatures passed on a voice vote with all present voting in favor. The court’s action formalizes the contract listed as proposal P12-25-104R and enables the county engineer to continue executing project documents needed to advance geotechnical work.
