County staff reported the Texas General Land Office (GLO) sent a notice that Victoria County’s application for Community Development Block Grant-Mitigation (CDBG‑MIT) road and drainage projects is eligible. Robin, the county grant coordinator, said the GLO requested additional information and the county has five business days to respond; staff expect to return the requested material on time.
Robin said this latest request was the fifth formal request for additional information on the application, but that much of the material had been provided previously; two items in the current request were newly outstanding. The county’s consultant, GrantWorks, has compiled documentation and staff said the GLO indicated a 4–6 week review period after approval before a contract might be issued.
Commissioners and staff discussed that while the paperwork is being processed the county remains ready to begin design and that residents in flood-prone areas are awaiting progress on road and drainage improvements. Staff said they will continue to monitor GLO timelines and will return to the court with contract documents when available.
The court received the notice of eligibility for the record by motion and vote; staff made no funding commitments during the meeting.
