Victoria County Commissioners voted to award the Northside Road reconstruction project (base bid plus additive alternates 1 and 2) and authorized the county judge to execute an agreement with the recommended contractor pending legal review.
John, county staff, summarized the bid results for the Northside Road project stretching from near State Highway 77 north toward Parsons Road. He said the base scope is to reclaim and seal coat the roadway, alternate 2 extends the work farther north, and alternate 3 was a seal coat to Parsons. The total award for the base bid plus additive alternates 1 and 2 was $534,315.19; staff recommended approving base bid plus alternates 1 and 2. John said the county has an interlocal agreement with the City of Victoria and that the city's portion of the work in city limits would be calculated and billed per that agreement.
A commissioner thanked staff for the work and moved to approve items a through f (award, alternates and agreement authorization); another commissioner seconded and the motion passed. Commissioners noted that the chosen construction approach should provide a durable repair for a roadway that has become a frequent thoroughfare.
Staff said they will calculate the city's contribution, finalize the contract with Clark Construction of Texas Inc., and proceed with the work.
