Callahan County Commissioners Court approved July 28 the specifications and advertising schedule for a request for proposals to replace courthouse copier and printer equipment, setting a deadline of Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. for sealed proposals.
Sam, the county procurement/IT presenter, told the court the specifications describe technical requirements, estimated monthly print volumes (about 12,000 pages for copiers and about 9,000 pages for printers tied to courthouse machines) and evaluation criteria that weight technical specification compliance, add-on features, company qualifications, pricing and local resource availability. Sam said the county typically replaces such equipment on a five-year cycle but has extended the current machines’ use because offices were spread across locations during the renovation.
The court agreed to publish the solicitation twice over two weeks, with a written-questions deadline proposed for Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. Sam said vendors should submit five references (three of which must be a city or county government) and provide seven physical copies of proposals to the county judge’s office and IT.
Commissioner Windham moved to accept the specifications and begin advertising; Commissioner McGowan seconded the motion, and the court voted to approve the action.
