The Butler County Commission voted to approve an island annexation request by the city of Andover for property at 9947 Southwest Meadowlark Road. Staff said the annexation corrects an earlier processing oversight and allows the property owner to conform to city development standards.
Commissioners were told staff discovered the parcel had been annexed by the city but had not been processed properly by county staff; county staff moved to correct the record and recommended approval. A motion to approve "resolution 20 five-thirty 6, a request for island annexation, properties at 99 And 47 SW Meadowlark Road, Andover, by the city of Andover" was made by Commissioner Masterson, seconded by Commissioner Wazak, and approved by voice vote.
Staff emphasized the action is procedural: it corrects county processing so future development and title questions are resolved under the city's standards rather than leaving a gap between jurisdictions. No substantive changes to zoning or development standards were made by the commission at the action; the item conforms the county record to the city-initiated annexation.
The resolution passed by the commission will be entered into county records and the matter is considered closed unless further petition is filed by affected parties.
