County staff: KCC to facilitate gas-line talks; neighborhood revitalization and Quivira water update noted

A county representative reported several intergovernmental updates: the KCC will facilitate a meeting between the county representative, the cities of Sawyer and Sharon, and Kansas Gas Service (KGS) to negotiate building a gas line. The representative said she is waiting for scheduling details and that the KCC will not involve a third city previously discussed.

The representative also referenced a recent news item about the Quivira impairment and federal water allocation, noting a statement attributed to a U.S. senator and that federal authorities indicated they were not using their water allocation this year because of local conservation efforts; staff asked commissioners to note the article but did not recommend action at the meeting.
