Council approves replatting for residential lots at 401 Barker Street and North Mason addresses
Summary
Council accepted planning commission recommendations to replat several small residential parcels, creating separate lots at 401 Barker Street and at 1208/1210 North Mason Street; staff noted one existing house is grandfathered into a nonconforming setback and would need relocation or setback compliance if rebuilt.

The council accepted planning and zoning recommendations to replat properties into saleable lots at two locations: Half acre and Block 15, Lindsay Addition (commonly known as 401 Barker Street) and parts of Block 8, creating parcels at 1208 and 1210 North Mason Street. The motions to accept the replats were seconded and passed by recorded voice votes.
Planning staff said the 401 Barker Street replat divides a parcel so the owners can sell two pieces; one parcel currently contains a structure and the other had a structure that was torn down. On the North Mason Street replat staff noted one house sits outside current setback lines because it is "grandfathered in." The presenter explained that if that house is destroyed or the owner pursues an addition, it would have to be rebuilt or modified to meet current setback requirements. "If it ever gets, destroyed and it has to be rebuilt or if they're going to, you know, add an addition to it, they're gonna have to move things so it's within the setback lines," staff said.
Councilmembers moved and seconded the motions; roll-call style voice votes in the excerpt recorded "aye" from the councilmembers present. No council debate beyond clarification of location and setback implications was recorded in the transcript segment.
