Cell tower CUP rescheduled after required mailings missed, staff says

Planning staff told the Miami County Planning Commission on Sept. 2 that a conditional use permit (CUP) renewal for a cell tower (case 25005) must be rescheduled because required public mailings were not sent within the statutory timeframe.

Staff said the cell tower currently operates under a 10‑year CUP and the applicant requested the renewal; because notice mailings did not meet published deadlines, the application will be re‑noticed and considered at a future meeting. Staff said the county has started required mailings and will publish again for the next month's meeting.

No formal action was required by the commission at the Sept. 2 meeting; staff will reissue notices and report back when the application is ready for a hearing.
