At its Aug. 25 meeting the County Commission approved three routine administrative actions: the purchase of a used 2016 Ram 2500 pickup for up to $26,995; a personnel promotion; and a slate of abatements.
Public Works staff sought approval to buy a 2016 Ram 2500 at McPherson Car Connection with about 53,000 miles for a price “not to exceed $26,995.” Staff described the vehicle as clean, with new tires and recent brakes, and said the purchase would replace a Trailblazer with engine compression problems that the county plans to sell as-is. A commissioner moved to approve the purchase, a second followed, and the motion carried by voice vote.
On personnel, the commission approved the end of the introductory period and promotion for Stanley London from Maintenance Worker I to Maintenance Worker II, effective Aug. 31, 2025. The item was described as a six-month promotion following satisfactory evaluation; commissioners moved and seconded the promotion and approved it by voice vote.
Commissioners also approved a group of abates presented by staff; the meeting record shows a motion to approve the abates and a voice vote carrying the motion. The transcript did not specify the individual abatement addresses or amounts during the public meeting.
All three approvals were recorded as motions and carried by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were given in the meeting record.
