During the public-comment period at the Sept. 8 Milford City Council meeting, two residents spoke about safety and a proposed housing project.
Julie Morris, 74 Cedar Beach Road, thanked Chief Cecilia Ash and staff for responding to oxygen-tank-related calls and said she had received an early-morning email stating that Brandywine Counseling President and CEO Lynn Morrison had signed a trespassing agreement with the police that prohibits loitering or use of Brandywine’s premises after business hours.
Maura Cleary, 510 Truett Ave., said she has spoken with neighbors about a local development she identified as “Trudev” (as referenced in her remarks) and said residents are not opposed to new construction but are concerned about a proposed 39-unit building. Cleary said that would represent “40 to 80 people to even 120 people in a very small location” and expressed worries about parking, increased crime and people walking near homes. She also described seeing what she believed to be a drug deal behind a nearby house and said neighbors are concerned about safety.
The mayor closed the public comment period after the two speakers. The items raised were informational; no council action was taken during the public-comment period.
