The Conway City Council voted to approve an ordinance closing a portion of an old drainage easement on Block 5 of Conway Industrial Park East to allow Tokeson Inc. to clear title ahead of a plant closure and sale. The closure was presented as a cleanup action: the easement described in property records predated a 1992 re‑routing of the drainage channel and the area identified for closure contains buildings, pavement and driveways constructed decades ago. City staff said they had letters from all utilities and surrounding property owners and recommended the closure. Tokeson representative Jim McNeal told the council the easement appeared to be “just an oversight from years ago” and that the company was closing the plant and preparing the site for sale. “There was a project in 1992 that constructed that,” McNeal said, contrasting the older recorded easement line with the constructed channel. The ordinance was advanced and adopted. The council recorded a final vote of 6‑0 to adopt Ordinance O25‑63 to close the described portion of the drainage easement.
