Council presses enforcement on unsightly properties, trash‑can rules and a delayed dumpster fence

Members also discussed enforcement of a rule against leaving trash cans at the curb more than 24 hours. One council member suggested the city should consider stricter enforcement once the new trash collection system is fully in place, noting residents reported cans left out for several days because of missed pickups.
On the dumpster and fence issue behind the business on Hux, council members said the original zoning/planning approval included a fence requirement and that the city should follow up to ensure the condition is met. Several members urged staff to tighten timelines and follow-through on conditions attached to approvals so residents receive timely results.
No new ordinance was adopted at the meeting; council members repeatedly referenced the existing ordinance and the court process as the current enforcement pathway.
