Kennett City has launched a citizen survey as the first step in a strategic planning process the council said the city has not undertaken since 1975.
A councilmember reported the city is working with the Boot Hill Regional Planning Commission to distribute a short (about five minutes) and a longer (about 15 minutes) survey; the survey is open until July 1 and can be completed online via the city website or by scanning a QR code shown at city hall. Hard copies are available at city hall for residents who prefer paper; staff said they will manually enter paper responses.
The presenter said the next steps will include forming a steering committee representing different sectors of the city and holding town halls to gather further input. The presenter encouraged residents over 18 who live or work in the city to respond and offered to provide printed copies for churches and businesses.
Public Works was thanked for sharing the survey through social media, according to a councilmember.
