AccuLevel picks Kennett for regional facility; company plans $2.9 million investment, 41 jobs

AccuLevel, a foundation-repair and basement-waterproofing company, has chosen Kennett for one of its new Missouri regional sites and plans to invest $2,900,000 and hire 41 employees, Melissa Combs, director of economic development for Dunklin County, told the Kennett City Council.
"Kennett is getting a new business and more importantly, new jobs," Combs said at the meeting. She described AccuLevel's work as encompassing foundation repair for slabs, crawl spaces and basements, including bracing walls, waterproofing and correcting masonry settlement. Combs said the Kennett location will be able to serve four states and that AccuLevel had options elsewhere before choosing the city.
Combs said the company anticipates an investment of $2,900,000 in the Kennett facility and plans to hire 41 people with an average wage she described as "three times Dunklin County's current average wage." She said AccuLevel had already begun interviewing for the facility and that a groundbreaking could take place by the end of the year. The county and city staff and the Kennett Chamber of Commerce assisted in recruitment and permitting, Combs said, and she thanked city staff including Jan, Tina and Jerry Owens and the Board of Public Works for their help.
No formal council action was recorded on the recruitment announcement; the remarks were presented as an economic development update. City officials said they expect job listings to be posted soon and anticipate a positive local economic impact if the company follows the stated plan.
