Bridgeton council: minutes, bid award and liquor license requests; several items tabled

The Bridgeton City Council at its July 2 meeting approved the June 18 minutes, awarded a two‑year sodium chloride supply contract and took first‑reading actions on liquor‑license applications while tabling some items for later consideration.
The council approved the minutes of the June 18 meeting by roll call: seven votes in favor and one abstention (the abstention was recorded because the member was not at the earlier meeting). The council also approved a bid award: Compass Minerals America Inc. was approved as an additional supplier of sodium chloride for 2025 and 2026 in accordance with its bid dated June 24, 2025. The motion to approve the sodium chloride supplier was made by Council Member Luke and seconded by Council Member Luther and passed by voice vote.
For licensing, the council held first readings for new liquor licenses for Midas Hospitality LLC for two properties (SpringHill Suites and Courtyard St. Louis Airport).
