City staff and the city attorney explained the city requires tax‑clearance and inspections before issuing a license; if a license has not been issued and the business continues to serve, municipal‑court violations or civil injunctive action are available options.
City staff reported that all current license applicants have submitted documentation; one licensee remains incomplete because it had not yet obtained state tax clearance, which is a precondition to the city's issuance. Staff said last year that business had paid a late fee and was working toward compliance, and the city’s licensing detective is completing background checks following a recent vacation absence.
The board moved and seconded approval of the list; the motion passed unanimously. City officials said they would proceed with revocation hearings or other enforcement if a license were issued in error or if a business served without a valid city license.
