Town and Country — The Board of Aldermen unanimously approved two ordinances Sept. 8 that amend the municipal building-code provisions and incorporate St. Louis County electrical and plumbing codes.
The board passed bill number 25-36, which amends Title 5, Chapter 500 of the municipal code by revising section 500.07 concerning the city’s code official. The board also passed bill number 25-37, which amends sections 500.05 and 500.06 to adopt St. Louis County electrical and plumbing codes by reference. Both measures passed on roll-call votes and were recorded as ordinances 4707 and 4708.
Why it matters: The amendments clarify the city’s code-official authority and bring the city’s electrical and plumbing standards into alignment with county-adopted codes by formal reference. Board members gave no extended debate on the measures and supported approval by unanimous vote.
