The Mexico City Council approved July 28 a resolution authorizing the mayor to sign an easement with Missouri American Water that will allow relocation of approximately 560 linear feet of potable water main to accommodate construction of new tennis courts at the high school.
City staff said the school project required moving a water main that currently ran through the proposed court footprint; the engineer proposed an alternate alignment that places the main on the other side of Plunkett Park Road, inside Plunkett Park, between the lake and the road. The city reviewed the easement exhibit and recommended authorizing the mayor to sign the easement.
Council approved the first reading and passage of the resolution. Staff said they would answer any final questions and proceed with executing the easement.
Ending: The easement will allow Missouri American Water to relocate the main under the agreed terms; staff will monitor the work in coordination with the school district and the water utility.
