The Yellowstone County Board of County Commissioners approved two appointments to the Big Sky Economic Development Authority (EDA) on Jan. 14, 2025, as part of the meeting’s consent agenda. The appointees, introduced during the meeting, are Vince Mistretta and Turk (Turk/Terp) Stovall.
Steve (staff member presenting) introduced Vince Mistretta, who identified himself as “the CEO of United Properties here in Billings, Montana” and said he has been in the area for almost two years and has been an investor/member with the EDA. Mistretta told commissioners he is “very excited and honored about the appointment.”
The presenter described Turk Stovall as a fifth-generation Montana rancher and business owner. The meeting record notes Stovall’s roles as CEO and owner of Stovall Ranches LLC, Yellowstone Cattle Feeders LLC and Yellowstone Ecosolutions LLC and lists academic credentials: a bachelor of science in livestock management from Montana State University, a master of science in animal science from Oklahoma State University and a master of business administration from Purdue University.
The two appointments were included on the consent agenda and were approved when the commission approved the consent agenda later in the meeting. No separate roll-call vote for the individual appointments was recorded in the transcript; the meeting record shows the consent agenda motion was made, seconded and approved with commissioners saying “Aye.”
