Grain Valley welcomes new officer, recognizes sergeant promotion and honors school resource officer

Police Chief Turner reported that Officer Danny Iams, the school resource officer, received the Thomas R. Myers award from an ASIS chapter recognizing contributions to safety and security. Chief Turner listed programs Iams helped lead, including National Night Out, Shop with a Cop, Camp Focus, RAD, ALICE training, and other school and community safety programs.
Board members publicly thanked Iams for his consistent community work and the board welcomed Officer Maybell and congratulated Sergeant Breedlove on promotion. No formal vote was required for the recognitions and oath.
