City Planner James Sisk told the Poplar Bluff City Council on June 16 that the Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended a C-2 (general commercial) zoning classification for the annexation of property at 4101 Highway 67 North, owned by MBM Lodging LLC and operating as Motel 6.
“Planning and zoning has sent this to you guys with the recommendation of a C-2 general commercial zoning,” James Sisk said. Staff noted the property sits within a commercial corridor and that the request is a voluntary annexation initiated by the business rather than the city.
Council members moved the item to the July 7 voting session for final consideration; the motion passed unanimously on June 16. No annexation or zoning ordinance was adopted at the June 16 meeting.
