The City Council on Aug. 19 approved a first reading of Bill No. 25‑066 to rezone 210 and 214 North Fourth Street from B (multifamily) to E (commercial) zoning district and amended the city zoning map accordingly.
A staff member told the council that the Planning and Zoning Commission had held a public hearing, received no public objections, and voted unanimously to recommend the rezoning. The bill received its first reading at the council meeting and will follow the city's ordinance procedure for subsequent readings and final adoption.
Councilors asked no substantive questions during the first reading. The ordinance text presented to the council specifies the target parcels and the requested map change; the council did not adopt conditions or special-use restrictions at this stage.
If the council moves the bill through subsequent readings and adopts the ordinance, the city’s zoning maps will be updated to reflect the E commercial district for the two parcels identified in the ordinance.
