Staff reports: Mud Run participation, administrator search, wastewater funding update City staff reported several operational and calendar items in the meeting's staff reports segment. Parks and events staff said the recent Mud Run drew about 900 participants; the parks and recreation director and other staff thanked departments for their roles in staging the event. City Human Resources and administration staff reported the city administrator search is moving forward and staff aim to bring a finalist to council in September. Staff also said state funding that had been allocated for the wastewater plant in the state budget was vetoed; city staff said they are pursuing other funding options and that Bob Ford, Karen and the city administrator (staff team) will meet with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) the following day to discuss options. Other administrative notes: staff reviewed October meeting and workshop dates, confirmed yard-waste facility hours for Labor Day weekend (open Friday, Sept. 5, 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 6, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.), and reminded council of upcoming community events such as the Republic Racer Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 13. The mayor also expressed condolences over a workplace accident reported in Branson and thanked utility crews and staff for their work.
