Warrensburg council accepts easements for Enterprise Lift Station sewer main

The Warrensburg City Council on Aug. 11 voted to accept public easements needed to install a sewer main running from the Enterprise lift station to Cahill.
Interim Public Works Director Phil Adlidge told council staff began negotiating with property owners about 12–18 months ago and had already executed purchase agreements and paid owners for the permanent and temporary construction easements. Adlidge said council acceptance formalizes the city's ownership of those easements and allows them to be recorded.
Adlidge explained the package includes both permanent easements and temporary construction easements (which are wider to accommodate construction equipment). He noted the compensation shown in some template documents sometimes lists nominal amounts ($1 or $10) and said the city used standard deed language and secured written agreements with owners. He also said staff will restore property surfaces after construction.
Council moved the ordinance forward by title for second reading and then voted to adopt the ordinance. The adoption votes were recorded as: Osborne — yes; Latari — yes; Jones — yes; Mueller — yes.
Discussion vs. decision: Adlidge said city staff had authority to negotiate and pay for the easements under prior authorization; the council's action was a formal acceptance to place the easements on the city's books and record them. No further policy changes were made at the meeting.
