Hero Fund USA gives $7,442 to Warrensburg Fire Department for thermal imaging cameras

Mayor Bruce C. Euler and the Warrensburg City Council accepted a presentation on a $7,442 grant from Hero Fund USA on the evening the nonprofit’s CEO visited the council chambers. The funds are intended to help the Warrensburg Fire Department buy additional thermal imaging cameras.
The grant was presented by Daryl Smith, chief executive officer of Hero Fund USA, who said the check supports a project that expanded the department’s thermal-imager purchases. “Tonight, without further ado, we do want to do a formal presentation to chief Jennings and anyone in the city council from Hero Fund USA, a check for $7,442 for, toward the new thermal imager project,” Smith said.
Chief Jennings told the council the department had budgeted for thermal imaging but used the grant to increase the number of devices purchased. Jennings said the department had 29 units budgeted and, with the grant and other savings, was able to purchase additional equipment beyond that allotment.
The presentation was a ceremonial matter; no council vote was required. The check was handed to Chief Jennings at the dais and photographed for the record.
The council thanked Hero Fund USA for the donation. There was no further action on the item during the meeting.
