Committee recommends settlement of multiple lawsuits, retention of special counsel and demolition authorization

The Committee on International Legal Affairs reconvened in a remote session and the chair recommended that the committee report out for adoption a series of legal actions affecting the City and County of Honolulu, including authorizations to settle pending lawsuits, retention of special counsel in a separate matter, and a resolution to authorize demolition of an unsafe private structure in Wahiawa.
The committee said it consulted in executive session with its attorneys under sections 92-4 and 92-5(a)(4) of the Hawaii Revised Statutes before making the recommendations.
