The Historic District Review Board approved construction of a single‑vehicle freestanding carport at 438 Apodaca Hill on Tuesday.
Staff presented plans showing a 260‑square‑foot carport in a Spanish Pueblo‑Revival vocabulary with stained beams and posts and stuccoed parapets to match the district context. The proposed height (11 feet 6 inches) is below the maximum allowed (13 feet 9 inches). The board had no substantive concerns and approved the application.
Applicant Frederick Sears affirmed the plans and said he would proceed to building permits.
What’s next: Applicant will submit building permit applications; staff will review construction details and inspect work for conformity with approved plans.
