The Westmont Village Board approved an ordinance declaring a fire department safety trailer purchased in February as surplus property, Acting Manager Parker said. The board heard that the trailer “has served its life” and the item was placed on the agenda for surplus declaration.
Acting Manager Parker noted Fire Chief Riley had been present earlier but was called out on an emergency response; no safety concerns related to the call were reported at the meeting. Trustee Guzzo moved the surplus declaration and Trustee Scales seconded; a roll-call vote recorded unanimous approval among trustees present.
The ordinance declares the trailer surplus and permits the village to dispose of or sell the equipment under village procurement and disposition rules; the meeting record did not include a sale price or immediate disposal plan.
