Residents and staff raise drainage, culvert concerns on West White Cloud Road

A resident said: "To go where it normally went years ago, but that's all blocked up. So it goes into the Frankenmires Cornfield, all down them cornrows, fills that road ditch up with dirt, and then it goes across the road." The same speaker reported localized flooding at a specific address: "I got water on the 12463 West White Cloud Road."
A staff member told the board, "They can request it, but we don't have the authority to tell they have to put 1 in," referring to county authority over culvert installation. County road staff reported they are cleaning out the ditch in the White Cloud area and recovering equipment used in the work, saying, "We picked up the crawler motor. It is they're done with it. We're gonna put it back in in our track motor. We're cleaning out some ditch. That's what started this up in white cloud."
Board members directed staff to investigate possible structural solutions, determine whether larger drainage structures are feasible with NRD cooperation, and report back with options. No formal vote or new ordinance was adopted at the meeting.
