District says referendum projects nearly finished; district office move and land sale in progress

Hudson School District officials reported at the annual meeting that most projects tied to the 2023 capital referendum are nearing completion, and they outlined forthcoming changes to district property holdings and office space.
Finance director Bonnie Stegman said construction work at North Hudson, EP Rock and Hudson Middle School is roughly 98% complete and the district targets finishing work over the next few weeks with an overall completion date tied to the referendum schedule in October 2025. She said the district has designated $15,000,000 of fund balance to pay for construction spending this year.
Stegman told the meeting the district office (the ACS property) has been listed for sale and staff will move into a designated space at Hudson Middle School; she said the move is scheduled to happen on the coming Friday. The board has also accepted an offer for 91 acres on County Road UU, Stegman said, and the goal is to close the land transfer by December 2025; the district estimates the properties will add about $4,500,000 in taxable property to the tax base.
Stegman said Bray Architects and Margaret Johnson were selected to manage the referendum projects and that most work should be complete by October 2025. She said new-construction values across the district vary by municipality, with the town of Troy showing the most new-construction value projected for the year.
The district's technology department reported equipment rollouts tied to operations: 400 new elementary Chromebooks, 3,000 secondary Chromebooks reconditioned and redistributed, 120 staff laptops issued and an update of more than 900 Windows devices to Windows 11; the tech team logged over 2,500 help-desk tickets over the summer.
Discussion versus decision: the meeting recorded information items and plans; the board accepted a land offer (procedural acceptance reported) and is in the process of selling the district office property. No construction contract awards or new levies were recorded beyond the earlier budget action.
