Hall County staff say they will help homesteaders complete exemption paperwork

Staff member (county staff) said at the Hall County meeting that most homesteaders want the office to keep their homestead exemption paperwork and that staff will help residents complete the forms when they bring them in. "A majority of homesteaders want us to fill out their paperwork, so we thought to it would benefit them for us just to keep their paperwork," the staff member said. "So when they call, we tell them just like they we normally do. Bring your things up when you have them, and we'll help you fill it out."
The staff member added that staff can also mail forms to residents who prefer not to come in and that the office has seen filing errors from accountants. "If they don't wanna do that, we will mail lot of them don't realize that we'll do the paperwork for them. And, we have a lot of accountants who don't fill it out correctly. We had a lot that did not turn it in last year," the staff member said.
