The Village of Oak Lawn Board of Trustees approved a multi-item consent agenda during its April 8 regular meeting, enacting several ordinances and resolutions and authorizing disbursements.
The board approved Ordinance 25-07-10, creating a municipal grocery retailer’s occupational tax and a municipal grocery service occupational tax; Ordinance 25-07-11, updating recycling requirements for multifamily structures; and Ordinance 25-07-12, updating rules governing electronic sweepstake machines. The trustees also approved Resolution 25-07-23 to waive competitive bidding and authorize Petroleum Technologies Equipment (PTE) to remove a 10,000-gallon fiberglass underground storage tank (UST) and related equipment at the Village Hall fuel station for an amount not to exceed $133,000, and Resolution 25-07-24 approving seven change orders aggregating $23,397.03 related to the Oak Lawn Regional Water System transmission main bid package 7. The board approved Resolution 25-07-25 authorizing the closure of 90th Street and submission of a permit to the Illinois Department of Transportation for the 2025 Fourth of July parade and accepting related liabilities.
Trustees voted by roll call to adopt the consent agenda; the roll-call sequence recorded affirmative responses from the trustees present and the motion passed. Later in the meeting the board also approved Disbursement Resolution 2025-07-D dated April 8, 2025, in the amount of $13,085,005.12.
The ordinances were introduced as routine updates and regulatory changes and were advanced as a package under the village’s consent process, which the board uses for items the mayor, trustees or village manager consider routine and noncontroversial. No individual item was removed for separate discussion during the meeting.
The resolutions and disbursement resolution will move forward under the authority granted by the board; the record shows the votes recorded during the meeting but does not include individual mover/seconder names for the omnibus motion.
