Planning hearing for Wayside Cross R-1 petition delayed after notice error; resident questions zoning process

A Montgomery resident who identified herself online as Jen Hintz asked the Village Board on May 1 how a proposed zoning request for the Wayside Cross property will proceed after recent filings. The resident said she had sent a written comment and asked whether the petition under consideration would be treated as R-1 or default to B-2 if the planning board denied R-1.
A village staff member responded that the original petition had been withdrawn and that the filing currently before the Planning & Zoning Commission is a new R-1 petition. The staff member said the public hearing scheduled for May 1 would not proceed as noticed because of a notification issue with the newspaper; as a result, all public hearings on the Planning & Zoning Commission agenda for May 1, including Wayside Cross, will be continued to a special meeting and therefore will not advance to the Village Board at this meeting.
Resident Jen Hintz also thanked the Montgomery Police Department in the meeting for responding to an unrelated report of recurring broken glass in her neighborhood.
No board action was taken on the Wayside Cross petition at the May 1 meeting; staff instructed residents to consult the Planning & Zoning Commission agenda for the new continuation date.
