The Village of Montgomery board approved a resolution authorizing the village to sign an updated intergovernmental agreement to participate in the Illinois Public Works mutual aid network.
Director Woll told trustees the network has been a valuable resource for communities rendering and receiving aid. The proposed revisions, which the network’s board of trustees proposed, expand the circumstances in which mutual aid may be rendered beyond strictly emergency disaster or weather-related events to include other non-disaster needs, clarify language regarding nonprofit participation, and formalize a process allowing the network’s board to approve future bylaw changes.
Trustees voted to adopt the changes. Director Woll said the agreement formalizes the village’s continued participation but does not obligate Montgomery to send or accept mutual‑aid resources beyond its own operational decisions.
The resolution passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
