Liz, identified in the meeting as president of the Grandview Chamber of Commerce, told the board that several convenience store owners praised the city's business environment but said the licensing process—requiring individual employees to be licensed for alcohol sales—shrinks the pool of potential hires. "We respectfully request the board consider reviewing and updating this ordinance to align with practices in other similar cities and the state regulations," Liz said, noting that neighboring cities sometimes do not require individual employee licenses.
The board thanked the speaker and said staff will place the matter on a future work session agenda for further review. No formal action or ordinance drafting occurred at the meeting during public comment.
