Public works update: Budweil Pavilion work underway, Valiant Park pavilion delivered; board approves electrical relays quote

Director of Public Works Dan Howard presented the capital-improvement update at the Feb. 27 Fenton Board of Aldermen meeting.
Howard said the Larkin Williams project is complete except for pavement striping, which awaits weather suitable for striping and a final walkthrough. Renovation work at Budweil Pavilion is underway, and work on stairs at Budweil and the John Fabick Nature Preserve is scheduled to begin in March as weather permits. Howard reported that the pavilion structure for Valiant Park has been delivered and is expected to be installed soon and that pickleball court lighting standards have been installed as ground conditions allowed; final electric and water-fountain installations are pending weather and electrical completion.
The board also approved a quote from Meyer Electric Company for phase-loss relays for Riverchase (Y and K), a project discussed at the Feb. 6 committee meeting. Alderman Mazurang moved to approve the quote; Alderman Hills seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
Ending Public-works staff will schedule the final striping for Larkin Williams when weather allows, complete pavilion work as materials and weather permit and proceed with the approved electrical work from Meyer Electric Company. The board received a capital plan through December 2024 as part of the packet.
