The City of Saint Ann Police Department recognized an officer and several detectives at the Feb. 3 Board of Aldermen meeting for recent work on violent-incident investigations.
Chief Aaron Jimenez presented Officer Christopher Cox with an Officer of the Month plaque for January 2025, citing proactive enforcement, speed enforcement assistance and investigative work. The chief said Cox had demonstrated professionalism in traffic enforcement and investigative duties.
In a separate presentation the chief and department leaders recognized detectives and officers involved in investigating and stopping a threat connected to the Ritenour/Husky Academy school area in September 2024. The chief read an award citation naming Detective Ruby Steingross (task force officer with Homeland Security) and several Saint Ann officers and detectives for “quick actions and stopping a critical threat which endangered the lives of multiple students and faculty members” on Sept. 17, 2024. The chief said federal authorities subsequently secured indictments related to the case.
The board applauded the officers and took photos; no formal board action was required for the recognitions.
