Saint Ann aldermen approve golf-course clubhouse contracts and tree-removal ordinance

At the Feb. 3 meeting at City Hall, aldermen approved first- and second-reading motions for Bill No. 34-84, which authorizes the city administrator to enter agreements with Session Fixtures, Dugan Contracting, Bradford Systems, Hanacamp Electrical (transcript: Hana Camp Electrical) and H.G. Schultz Door for clubhouse renovation work. Matt (city staff) told the board the contracts cover restroom and locker-room work, new interior doors and lighting, and furnishings including tables and display cases for the clubhouse. The roll call recorded ayes from all members present; the measure became Ordinance No. 33-89.
The board also passed Bill No. 34-85, authorizing the city administrator to enter into an agreement with B & B Tree for removal of diseased and dead trees at the golf course. City staff said the removals are part of a state-funded program that will cover most of the additional cost of removing hazardous trees; the board discussed using the same program later for work at T. Meyer Park. Roll call on the tree-removal ordinance recorded ayes and the bill became Ordinance No. 33-90.
Separately, the board took first-and-second votes to approve the routine monthly reports and warrantless items; that motion passed on voice vote.
The contracts for the clubhouse are intended to move ordering and procurement forward so the renovation can proceed, city staff said. For the tree work, staff noted the city will proceed in phases: the golf course first, then parks identified for subsequent work under the same state program.
