Board approves ordinances for golf course clubhouse renovations and tree removal; bids and contracts added to agenda

The Board of Aldermen of the City of Saint Ann on Feb. 3 approved ordinances authorizing contracts for a municipal golf course clubhouse renovation and for removal of diseased and dead trees at the same site.
On first and second readings the board passed Bill No. 34-84, described in the packet as “an ordinance authorizing the city administrator to enter into agreements with Session Fixtures, Dugan Contracting, Bradford Systems, Hana Camp Electrical, and H.G. Schultz door for golf course clubhouse renovation work.” Matt (city staff) said the agenda item was updated after the committee meeting to add additional quotes; Dugan Contracting was described as handling restroom work and partition/flooring, Bradford Systems for clubhouse furnishings, Hana Camp Electrical for lighting and H.G. Schultz for interior doors. After roll call the minutes show Bill No. 34-84 “becomes ordinance number 33-89.”
The board also approved Bill No. 34-85, “an ordinance authorizing the city administrator to enter into an agreement with B and B Tree for tree removal.” City staff said the work covers removal of diseased and dead trees at the golf course and that the work is covered in part by a state program referenced in the meeting (described by staff as a state cost-sharing trim program that will pay most of the cost). After the vote the transcript indicates Bill No. 34-85 became ordinance number 33-90e.
Council members asked few substantive questions on the items during second reading; the city clerk conducted roll-call votes for both ordinances. City staff said approving the contracts and ordering materials will allow the renovation project to proceed without delay.
The board also voted to adopt the “rule of monthly reports and warrantless” (procedural motion) by voice vote after a first and second; no opposition was recorded in the transcript.
