Saint Ann adds two parking regulations and authorizes new signs to reduce corner-blocking

The Board of Aldermen on May 5 adopted an ordinance to add two parking regulations to the Saint Ann Municipal Code and discussed placement of new no-parking signs at two neighborhood corners where sightlines have raised safety concerns.

Staff described one no-parking location near the northeast side of Ivan and Teresa, where vehicles parked near the corner restrict sightlines for eastbound traffic. The other location is on the east-south side of Saint Clovis near Saint Catherine; staff said a large oak tree affects placement and the sign will extend the no-parking zone back to the corner to prevent collisions. A staff member told the board the signs are usually kept in stock and'if not'they would be installed within a week.

The ordinance amending Schedule 2, Table 2-A of the municipal code to add parking regulations was approved and became Ordinance No. 3407. Staff said it will coordinate with residents and operations staff (Dennis and Ivan were referenced) to install one sign at each location and will notify residents about the change.

What happens next: Public works staff will order or pull signs from stock and install them within the week if available; the ordinance updates the municipal parking schedule and the signs will be placed at the specified corners.
