North Aurora awards $369,568 to repair electrical issues at West Water Treatment Plant

After inspections, staff prepared a bid package that included a base bid and two alternate bids. Six companies downloaded the project documents and the village received two bids. Staff recommended proceeding with the base bid only because the electrical issues at the West plant were affecting well flow meters and could be a safety issue for employees. Staff said the two alternate bids will be rebid in the future and that the village will pursue DCEO funding to pay for the work.
Trustees approved the base-bid award to Frank Marshall Electric by unanimous roll call. The meeting transcript does not record contract award conditions beyond the base bid, nor a contract number or completion schedule.
