Glendale Heights committee to study senior snow-removal options

Trustee comments noted residents had asked whether the village could provide help or funding and whether grants or business donations could be sought. Staff said they had not researched a formal program and would look into options. A village staff member identified two program types that would require different approaches: a senior driveway-plow program and a sidewalk-assistance program.
Trustee discussion referenced an existing volunteer list maintained at the Linda Jackson Senior Center that contains names of people who provide snow removal to seniors, but officials said that list is not comprehensive. Staff agreed to gather data on costs and program models and to report back to the board.
