The North Aurora Board of Trustees approved a tax-increment-financing (TIF) façade grant Monday for a new restaurant at 227 South Lincoln Way, now operating as La Javeta Beef and Bowls.
Staff described that the business completed a building rehabilitation and obtained a certificate of occupancy last week. "They're applying under the TIF grant for parking lot improvements and signage improvements. The grant program allows up to $20,000, 50% match," Staff member Nathan said. The applicant provided three quotes; trustees recorded a request of $16,120 for a full parking-lot repave and $8,120 for signage work that would remove a nonconforming pole sign and install new wall-mounted signs.
Trustees approved the grant by roll call. The transcript does not record the exact match schedule or contractor selection; staff said the grant allows up to $20,000 and requires a 50% match by the applicant.
